On June 12, the Tourism as‌sociation organized the launching ceremony of the Northwest Tourism Stimulation program with the participation of more than 150 enterprises across the country. According to analysis, after the epidemic, the tastes of tourists have changed a lot.

Tourists prefer short trips, by private means, in groups of friends or family. The destinations chosen are pristine regions. From these analyzes, the Tourism as‌sociation stated that the Northwest has enough conditions to attract tourists.

"Northwest provinces including Hoa Binh, Son La, di‌en Bien, Lai Chau , Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho and Ha Giang are difficult economic areas but rich in tourism resources. These resources include nature and culture. Therefore, tourism development is the fastest way to motivate the Northwest, "said Vu The Binh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Vietnam Tourism as‌sociation, in the meeting.

However, the North West provinces have weak transport infrastructure, lack of specialized facilities for tourism such as accommodation, recreation, shopping and human resources in the industry. Most of the tourism workers in these provinces have not received intensive professional training and the tourism products are still lacking diversity. Linkages between provinces are available but not yet effective.

Through the stimulus program, the Tourism as‌sociation wants to call for participation from all levels, sectors and tourism businesses. From there, the Northwest provinces can create unique tourism products, taking advantage of the majestic natural landscape.

The stimulus program also proposes that tourism businesses and business households continue to reduce prices but need to ensure the quality of services to create favorable conditions for attracting tourists.

After the launching ceremony, the Tourism as‌sociation continued to implement the tourism product survey program in the Northwest region from June 12-16.
