The mysterious creature was killed by shepherds after it attacked one of them as well as cattle. However, the concern is that even experts cannot decide what the beast really is because it has been burned.
The bizarre creature was exterminated in the village of Oancea in eastern Romania after it attacked sheep, sheep, birds and domestic dogs. Its head is described to bear a resemblance to a hyena, even having things that look like manes.
“I don’t know what animal it is because I’ve never seen such a thing. It has no hair on its head, only manes. This is not a dog. I thought it was a dog at first but it had two rows of teeth, ”one shepherd said.
Experts are also divided on the idea of the origin of the strange creature and cannot perform more detailed tests because it has been burned.
Adrian Alexandru, director of the Galati district’s Hunters and Fisheries association, said: "In all likelihood, I think it is a hyena, an animal living in Africa. I think the animal came from somewhere in the Republic of Moldova, crossed the Prut River and settled near the sheep herding. ”
However, biologist Madalin Serban, director of the Galati Museum of Natural Science, disagrees with this view. Madalin Serban hypothesized that someone might have set up a secret zoo and this animal might have escaped from there.
“I don’t think it’s hyenas because the body structure is completely different from hyenas. It has a massive head and various teeth. It certainly looks very strange. My opinion is that this can be thought of as a large wild dog, skin disease, most likely a form of scabies, ”Madalin Serban surmised.
Currently, the true origin of this creature is still being studied by Romanian experts.
